Software Product Line in Internet of Things area
Mobile applications and pervasive technologies are proceeding with more velocity with respect to years ago. This progress has extraordinary impact on peoples everyday life. New approaches to conduct communication among user and devices or among multiple devices, changes the communication of devices and environment into a more smart mode. Devices can sense the environment by means of sensors, actuators, ¿ and react appropriately to its changes with intelligent solutions in order to satisfy the needs of users .
This improvements can assist different categories of device users with a vast domain of variety (e.g. handicaps, children with different age ranges,¿).
One of the most challenging issues of this area is the compatibility of proposed intelligent solutions with different devices which has different physical characteristics, considering also environmental potential risks such as limited connectivity or hardware heterogeneity.
A possible solution offered by research community is Software Product Lines (SPL) which is a SW developing method for creating a collection of similar software systems from a shared set of software assets using a common means of production.
My research will be focusing on studying the challenges and investigating the existing solutions in this area and then providing context-aware solutions as a section of SPL solutions to provide decisions based on context information of the environment captured by sensors.
