: Development of a 3-axis FM gyroscope with fully integrated readout electronics

The goal of the research project is the development of a frequency-modulated (FM) gyroscope prototype. The main targets of the project are:
- the definition of guidelines to identify the optimumarchitecture for an FM gyroscope and its critical points, aiming at the development of both the sensor and the electronics;
- the development of both in-plane (for z-axis angular rates) and out-of-plane (for x- and y-axis rates) mechanical sensing structures;
- the development of a fully integrated readout electronics.
The main outcome of the project is the understanding of possible advantages and drawbacks of FM gyroscopes with respect to state-of-the-art AM solutions.
