-Reduced Order Techniques to Model Microwave Junctions Parametrically. The research activity was aimed to study reduced order models of either single discontinuities or waveguide filters, as particular examples of microwave junctions. These models are valuable in reducing the computation time otherwise required to get the full wave response by commercial software, making feasible accurate design procedures by optimization. At the begging of last year, the basics of design procedures for passband filters have been reviewed. Then, focusing on a particular filter structure with directly coupled resonators –the so-called metal insert filters- a suitable version of the mode-matching technique has been implemented and tested. This research activity is stopped due to supervisor decision.
-Optimization of Virtual Network Function placement(VFP), and improving the Impact of latency and bandwidth constraint on VNF distribution. The research activity is aimed at optimization of VNF placement. The activity is started at 5 months ago, in place of the previous theme. The targets for this research is achieved and there are a possibility and enough materials for publishing a few papers on the VNF placement topic in next two months after verifying by supervisor.
