:High speed and intensity laser drivers for Time-of-Flight 3D ranging and Pico-Projectors

In this research I am collaborating with MEMS division of ST microelectronics in order to develop multi-purpose Laser Diode Drivers (LDD) to fulfil the requirements for both Time-of-Flight (ToF) distance measurement and Pico-Projectors application, preferably in a single chip. such a comprehensive test chip will consist of several analog blocks (e.g. output power stage, reference generator, power-on-reset and power control, temperature control), mixed-signal ones (e.g. a general purpose ADC for internal measurements and testing), as well as custom digital circuitry and interface. The first main step in this research is to design an output power stage able to generate controllable 150mA current pulses with 0.5ns-1ns rise/fall time and 300MHz data rate.
