:A Multi-Platform Native Application Generation Framework for IoT

In this work we provide the development of IoT applications from the perspective of the model-driven paradigm, where developers leverage models and model transformations to generate IoT applications in an efficient and timely manner. Due to intrinsic nature of IoT: heterogeneous devices, different platforms and protocols, application development and integration of different IoT solutions is challenging for developers. To address these challenges, we propose a cross-platform framework for the IoT to ease the development process. It utilizes meta-model and model transformation concepts to increase the abstraction level for the sofware application generation and to facilitate application translation from one platform to another respectively. We evaluate our proposal by implementing application transformation between Node-Red, a visual programming tool for building IoT applications, and Android Things, an Android-based embedded operating system to build variety of IoT applications from the former to the latter.
