:Development of a longitudinal and lateral dynamics control framework for autonomous all-wheel drive full electric vehiclesAbstract:
Electric vehicles are becoming widely used, an interesting configuration of such a vehicle is the one with 4-wheel drive (4WDEV). Indeed, the possibility to modulate precisely and independently the torque of each wheel offers interesting possibilities to enhance vehicle dynamics.
Scope of my research is to investigate the manifold opportunities unleashed by 4WEVs related to lateral and longitudinal vehicle dynamics. In particular, the covered areas are:
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC); ;
- Torque Vectoring (TV); ;
- ABS and Traction Control (TC); ;
- Path tracking at the limit of handling. ;
The research project strongly relies on an important industrial partner and includes an extended experimental part on a real vehicle.
