:Development of a comprehensive control framework for lateral and longitudinal dynamics of a 4-wheel drive full electric vehicleAbstract:
Electric vehicles are becoming widely used, an interesting configuration of such a vehicle is the one with 4-wheel drive (4WDEV). Indeed, the possibility to modulate precisely and independently the torque of each wheel offers interesting possibilities to enhance vehicle dynamics.
Scope of my research is to investigate the manifold opportunities unleashed by 4WEVs related to lateral and longitudinal vehicle dynamics. In particular, the covered areas are:
The research project strongly relies on an important industrial partner and includes an extended experimental part on a real vehicle.
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC);
- Torque Vectoring (TV);
- ABS and Traction Control (TC);
- Path tracking at the limit of handling.
