Multilayer thin films for photonics and MEMS applications
This work will focus on the study and application of multilayer thin films with very broad transparency region, from UV lo LWIR. In many of the micro- and nanodevices today fundamental for the scaling process, the implementation of thin films with peculiar optical properties will improve both the operation and the integrability. Antireflection coating, mirrors and filters are only few of the possible applications that such films can provide, obtaining a very good integration between optical and mechanical devices. A broad part of the work is then dedicated to the development of light sensors for VIS and NIR wavelength ranges, being a very hot topic in many applications such as biosensors, automotive and telecommunications.
