Current students

The subject of this thesis is the development of a new detection system aimed to measure prompt gammas emitted during hadrontherapy, to provide real-time monitoring of the hadrons range in the tissue, addressing the challenges in terms of signal to background ratio associated with this type of irradiation. The detector components and readout electronics will be designed to fulfill the requirements of energy resolution, time resolution, and count rate of the incoming photons, in order to achieve the required position sensitivity.
